Chris Verryt

Exiles and  Pilgrims  -  Way of the Wilderness

Friday 13 Dec to Sun 5 Jan

Chris Verryt’s deeply contemplative paintings take the viewer on a journey of pilgrimage through landscapes and experiences which ponder abiding questions about our place in the world, questions that have graphic relevance in days of social uncertainty and environmental fragility.

‘I consider all (art) works to be a form of self-portrait, revealing something of the essence of each creator, and in that light, these works are snapshots, moments in time from the “path unknown”.’
Chris Verryt’s deeply contemplative paintings take the viewer on a journey of pilgrimage through landscapes and experiences which ponder abiding questions about our place in the world, questions that have graphic relevance in days of social uncertainty and environmental fragility.

They reflect the way of the great mystics, ‘expert mountaineers who go before and show the way to freedom, to reality, to peace.’ Evelyn Underhill.

These works are redolent of the Camino Way which in current times many are inspired to travel for reasons and purposes of greater understanding and revelation.
