After graduating I had a career as an art director/ graphic designer/ illustrator. winning many national and international awards. I started exhibiting full time in about 2003. I generally work from life or my sketchbook studies, but this exhibition was created entirely in the studio from memory and imagination. My interest in water has been a thread that runs through much of my work and these paintings are quite stylised and graphic in nature. This allows me to paint the rhythm and feeling of the rivers into an almost cubist simplicity.
