I have always been drawn to making things from Lego and drawings to painting and cross-stitch. Despite this constant urge to create, I often struggled to translate what I saw in my mind onto paper or canvas. It wasn’t until I began working as a producer and director, using editing software and digital design tools, that I developed a stronger understanding of composition and visual structure.
Inspired by the idea of “standing on the shoulders of giants,” I source discarded books from charity shops and local recycling centres, rescuing them from landfill and giving them new life. By carefully cutting into their pages, I isolate and preserve fragments of imagery, removing the rest to form layered compositions. Each piece becomes a reimagining, a new story emerging from one that already existed.
