Robert Peper

Reflections of Visual Encounters
21 Nov to 8 Dec

Early in 2024 we were approached by Devonport photographer, Robert Peper whose personal epiphany about the nature of perspective and its malleability caused him to develop a body of work that focusses on reflections, and how forms are altered as we look through an alternative lens. We thought that the images created resonated with Hundertwasser’s work, representing the many diatribes of Hundertwasser against the straight line.

Robert is a passionate photographer based in Belmont on Auckland’s North Shore and is a member of the North Shore Photographic Society.
Over the years Robert has shared the fruits of his photographic practice with many emerging photographers and in teaching Street, Impressionist and Reflection photography he has shown that walking through city streets can be a revelatory experience.
Robert comes from a very arty family in the Netherlands (professional photographers, painters, writers and pianists).
He has held numerous exhibitions and won many photographic competitions. His work has featured several times at the Auckland Festival of Photography, North Shore Library, the English Observer, The Guardian and the New Zealand Herald, amongst others.
