Piha has a powerful energy. The waterfalls, the native birds and trees, and the wild ocean. This exhibition ‘Listen and Feel’, captures this essence. Sophie taps into the energy of these naturally beautiful places and brings them inside so that people can recognise the importance of the environment. Her style is understated and expressive, encouraging the viewer to be drawn into the energy of the art and the landscape that has inspired it. Her background in architecture has influenced her simplistic style, with a sun appearing in most paintings, having roots in her architectural sketches.
