Wiremu Tāmihana Tarapīpipi was a Māori leader in the nineteenth century.
He was a man of peace, often trying to find peaceful resolutions with the government over land conflicts. However, at one stage he was forced into war. He lived by the principles of Te Whakapono, Te Ture, Te Aroha, be steadfast in faith in God, uphold the rule of law, show love and compassion to all.
