Despite the loss of whenua through war, theft or confiscation

Ngapuhi retained our sovereignty

 Sacrificing disproportionately

 Our men in foreign wars

Their blood and bones remain on distant shores

Whilst generations at home

Continue to suffer the fallout of trauma

And yet

There is a blooming of spirit

As enduring love renews, refreshes and enlivens

Weary souls with revitalised commitment

To the re emergence of Peace and harmony

Through the compassionate expression of unifying,

healing Aroha

Heather Randerson
