Te Kete Tuauri / The first basket of knowledge is our Humanity, importance of ritual and knowledge. Once mastering our own humanity we can then be able to understand the creation of the natural world and our place in it. This painting called “Ira” – life principle shows how we all have ira wahine female principle and ira tane male principle inside of us, and it is important for us to find balance. Equality between the sexes is important, each has their own mana.
By finding the balance can we only then be truly whole and at peace with ourselves.
